Fatal Confrontation: Two Lives Lost and Five Detained in Kogi Brawl

Two lives were brutally cut short in a terrifying confrontation that took place in the centre of Kogi State's Dekina Local Government Area. When two rival gangs clashed violently in the town of Anyigba, Abbas Abbas and Ojiji Shagari were the unfortunate victims. As we mutually lament the loss of these two people, this tragic tragedy serves as a sharp reminder of the need for peace and togetherness among our communities.


Locals claimed that two criminals engaged in a gun duel, sending bystanders running for cover in all directions.

"On Saturday afternoon, there were sporadic gunshots in Anyigba. Just recently, the deaths of Ojiji Shagari and Abbas Abbas were verified.


Usman Ayegba, a native of Anyigba, claimed that the thugs who perished were executed by their own members over disputes including rivalry or the distribution of formula.

James Odiba, another local, reported hearing a staccato of gunfire on Saturday at 1:45 p.m. outside the unity roundabout in Anyigba.

Two of the thugs were found lying in their own pools of blood, clinically dead, before the security personnel could get on the scene.

The residents also suggested that security authorities followed the thuggery group when they arrived at the scene of the crime at 2:30 pm and allegedly detained five of them, along with pump action rifles and other deadly weapons.
