Ngozi Okolie, a candidate for the Labour Party, and Ndidi Elumelu, a PDP candidate
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate Ndudi Elumelu was pronounced the victor of the 2023 House of Representatives election for the Aniocha-Oshimili Federal Constituency by the National Assembly Election Petition Tribunal, which is located in Asaba, Delta State.
In a ruling issued today, July 24, the tribunal revoked the Independent National Electoral Commission's (INEC) proclamation that Ngozi Okolie, a candidate for the Labour Party (LP), had won the election. Since Okolie was not a party member on May 28, 2022, the date of the party's primary, the tribunal ruled that the Labour Party had not properly supported him.
Ndudi Elumelu was subsequently declared the runner-up in the National Assembly on February 25, 2023.
