In the past, if you wanted to recharge your phone on a specific network, you had to use a different shortcode for each network. However, that is about to change. The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has introduced a new system where the same shortcode can be used across all networks.
According to Olude, the aim is to make things easier for users by reducing the burden of memorizing multiple shortcodes. Regardless of the network you are using, you will now be able to use a single shortcode for any transaction you want to perform. This harmonization will greatly benefit people with multiple numbers and older individuals who struggle to remember different shortcodes for various networks.
